Q. What inspired you to become a Mortgage Broker?
A. I wanted to help people. I remember getting my first mortgage and the bank made it really hard. I spoke to my parents adviser who then sat down with me and got me what I needed. After that, I knew I wanted to help people achieve their goals.
Q. What is the best part of being a Mortgage Broker?
A. Watching a first home buyer get their first home. Buying a home can be a huge challenge and can be demoralizing. To be able to help a client get over this and help them get a mortgage is awesome.
Q. What have you found to be the most challenging aspect?
A. Getting a decline. When you have spent time on the application and check to make sure it matches the bank’s policy, to then get it declined is disappointing for me and the clients.
Q. What is your most memorable client experience?
A. I had a first home buyer who was adamant she couldn’t get a loan for a mortgage. She had talked to the bank and another adviser who both said “No”. I said that’s OK, I’ll see what I can do. I remember when I got the approval letter from the bank and when I rang her, she refused to believe I’d got her a mortgage. She’s now in her own home.
Q. How would you sum up being a Mortgage Broker in three words?
A. Helpful, Problem Solvers
Q. If you could have dinner with any three people (alive or dead), who would it be?
A. Mother Theresa, Mahatma Gandhi, Elon Musk
Q. Complete this sentence: If I Wasn’t in Mortgage Broking, I would be…
A. Back in the classroom as a Teacher.

Even if you already own a property, it’s a good idea to check that your mortgage is setup correctly. We often find our clients can save thousands of dollars by simply re-arranging their mortgage and negotiating their interest rate. We do this on our clients behalf at no cost.
